Nepal Mediciti is the leading hospital in the country for Pre-Hospital Care. Our heli rescue team, led by highly trained and experienced emergency physicians, paramedics and nurses and proficient care in critical situations, offering timely interventions and stabilizing treatments even before reaching the hospital setting.
The hospital has the capacity to operate two helipads simultaneously-one on the rooftop and another on the ground. We have dedicated team for Emergency Rescue, Critical Illness Rescue, and Mountain Rescue from anywhere in the country. Additionally, the helipad is equipped with a dedicated lift that transports patients directly to the Emergency Room.
The Department has already established itself as a trusted provider in medical evacuation. The team had the honor of serving as the official medical backup for the Honorable PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during his visit to Muktinath and Janakpur, where they set up an onsite ICU to provide medical support. Additionally, the team has participated in various search and rescue missions, including the Altitude Air Heli Crash and the US Bangla Flight Crash. They have also successfully rescued individuals at high altitudes, including at Shey Phoksundo, which stands at 3600 meters. The Heli Rescue team has conducted one of the longest evacuation missions to Hilsa. Nepal Mediciti is the first hospital to introduce the concept of heli-rescue during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to heli rescues, the team has also chartered commercial flights to provide pre-hospital care services for patients during transfers both nationally and internationally.
