Dr. Namrata Mahara Rawal is the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Nepal Mediciti. With decades of extensive experience in neuropsychiatry, epilepsy, sleep disorders, and dementia, Dr. Rawal is a highly respected psychiatrist committed to delivering world-class mental health care.

Dr. Rawal completed her MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune University, India. She received advanced specialized training at prestigious international centers, including the San Antonio Military Medical Center in the USA and Phramongkutklao Hospital in Thailand. Her expertise spans a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, addiction disorders, and military psychiatry.

Her career highlights include serving as a Medical Officer in 1998, Registrar in 2005, Consultant Psychiatrist in 2007, and leading the Psychiatry Department at Birendra Army Hospital since 2011. Dr. Rawal also has notable experience as a Military Observer with the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) from 2006 to 2007.

As an Associate Professor at the Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences since 2011, Dr. Rawal plays an active role in medical education, training interns, residents, nurses, and paramedical students. She supervises research projects and theses, contributing to advancing mental health knowledge in Nepal.

Dr. Rawal has published multiple journal articles focusing on mental health challenges among soldiers and has been instrumental in raising awareness of neuropsychiatric and addiction disorders nationwide.
