Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sharma is a renowned Interventional Cardiologist in Nepal, currently serving as the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Interventional Cardiology at Nepal Mediciti. With over two decades of experience in advanced cardiovascular care, Dr. Sharma is recognized for his clinical excellence and leadership in the field.
He completed his MBBS in 1998 and earned his MD in Cardiology in 2005. To further advance his expertise, he pursued a prestigious Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the National University Hospital Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS). His international training has contributed significantly to his high-level procedural skills and evidence-based clinical practice.
Dr. Sharma has performed over 2,000 successful Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), including complex cases such as Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO), bifurcation lesions, left main disease, graft interventions, and peripheral angioplasties. His proficiency in minimally invasive cardiac procedures places him among the top interventional cardiologists in Nepal.
He has an extensive academic and research background, having authored and co-authored multiple papers in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Sharma also served for 17 years as a Consultant Cardiologist at Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, one of Nepal’s leading heart hospitals. In addition, he contributed to medical education and training as an Associate Professor at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS).
Dr. Sharma represents Nepal on the Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC) Board, reflecting his active engagement in the international cardiology community and his role in shaping the future of interventional cardiology in the region.
