Dr. Rishi Kumar Kafle

Dr. Rishi Kafle is a distinguished nephrologist and the Chief Consultant in the Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation at Nepal Mediciti. He has played a pivotal role in advancing nephrology in Nepal, significantly impacting the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases across the country. Dr. Kafle was instrumental in establishing dialysis services at Bir Hospital in 1988 and founded the Nephrology Unit there in 1990, laying the foundation for nephrology practice in Nepal.
In addition to his work at Bir Hospital, Dr. Kafle founded the National Kidney Center, a non-profit organization that has become the largest provider of dialysis services in Nepal. His efforts in creating and expanding these critical services have greatly enhanced the accessibility and quality of kidney care in the country.
Dr. Kafle is also dedicated to training and mentoring emerging nephrologists, contributing to the development of the next generation of specialists in Nepal. His extensive contributions to nephrology have earned him widespread respect and numerous awards within the Nepalese medical community.
