Dr. Rishi Kafle is a renowned nephrologist in Nepal, currently serving as the Chief Consultant in the Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation at Nepal Mediciti. With decades of experience and visionary leadership in renal healthcare, Dr. Kafle has been instrumental in transforming the diagnosis, treatment, and accessibility of kidney disease care throughout Nepal.

Dr. Kafle is widely recognized as a pioneer of nephrology in Nepal. In 1988, he played a foundational role in establishing dialysis services at Bir Hospital, and in 1990, he founded the hospital’s Nephrology Unit, marking a historic advancement in the country’s renal care capabilities.

Furthering his commitment to public health, Dr. Kafle established the National Kidney Center, a non-profit organization that has grown to become Nepal’s largest provider of dialysis services. His efforts have significantly expanded access to affordable and high-quality kidney care, particularly for underserved communities.

A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Kafle is deeply involved in training the next generation of nephrologists in Nepal, fostering the growth of skilled specialists in the field of renal medicine.
