Dr. Satyadeep Bhattacharya, a leading Colorectal Surgeon in Nepal, brings extensive international training and academic excellence to the field of colon and rectal surgery. He completed his MBBS from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, and began his surgical career at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, where he worked in the Department of Surgery.

With a strong aspiration to specialize further, Dr. Bhattacharya moved to the United States, where he completed his General Surgery Residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Tufts University, in Boston, Massachusetts. During his training, he was recognized for his outstanding surgical skills and was awarded the Top Gun Award for surgical excellence. He then pursued advanced specialization through a Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.

Following his fellowship, Dr. Bhattacharya worked for five years as a Colorectal Surgeon at Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH), USA. During this time, he also held key academic roles as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University (SIU) and served as Associate Program Director for the SIU General Surgery Residency Program, where he was actively involved in surgical education and mentorship.

In 2018, Dr. Bhattacharya returned to Nepal to fulfill his vision of establishing advanced colorectal surgical care in his home country. Since then, he has been offering his expertise at several renowned hospitals in Nepal, treating conditions such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), anorectal disorders, and performing minimally invasive and laparoscopic colorectal surgeries.

Dr. Bhattacharya is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS)—prestigious recognitions that underscore his global standing in colorectal surgery.

An active academic and researcher, Dr. Bhattacharya has delivered numerous presentations at regional, national, and international conferences in both the USA and Nepal. He has also contributed to several peer-reviewed medical journals, sharing insights that help advance the field of colorectal surgery.
