Dr. Ambuj Karn

HoD & Principal Consultant


Dr. Ambuj Karn is serving as the Head and Principal Consultant in the Department of Cancer Care at Nepal Mediciti, bringing over two decades of specialized experience in Radiation Oncology. He completed his MD in Radiation Oncology from the National Academy of Medical Sciences in Nepal, following his MBBS from the Maharajgunj Medicine Campus, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. Dr. Karn’s extensive background underscores his commitment to advancing cancer care through his focused practice in this field.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Karn held positions at several esteemed institutions, including the Department of Clinical Oncology at Bir Hospital and the Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center. He has also contributed as a Consultant at B P Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital. Additionally, he plays an active role in the academic community as an editor of the Postgraduate Medical Journal of NAMS and as a member of the Institutional Review Board at Nepal Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. His clinical interests encompass thoracic, breast, and gastrointestinal oncology, as well as pain management, palliative care, and teaching.

Dr. Karn is recognized for his strong connections within various professional communities, including national and international organizations such as the SAARC Federation of Oncologists and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His international training spans countries such as India, Australia, Singapore, China, and the United Kingdom. Renowned for his expertise in precision oncology and his exceptional interpersonal skills, Dr. Karn remains dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to cancer patients in Nepal and beyond.
