Dr. Ayushma Shah is a psychiatrist at Nepal Mediciti, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. She completed her MBBS from Nepalgunj Medical College (affiliated with Kathmandu University) in 2012, followed by an MD in Psychiatry from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) in 2023. Her academic excellence was recognized with the prestigious University Gold Medal, underscoring her commitment to the field of psychiatry.

With over 12 years of distinguished service in the Nepali Army Medical Corps, Dr. Shah brings a deep understanding of mental health care across diverse and challenging environments. Her previous roles include Consultant Psychiatrist at Shree Birendra Hospital, Lecturer at the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences, Resident Doctor in Psychiatry at AFMC Pune, and Medical Officer with United Nations peacekeeping missions in Africa. This broad clinical and international experience enables her to treat patients with empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.

Dr. Shah is a Level 1 certified TEAM-CBT practitioner, demonstrating her expertise in structured and evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques. She specializes in the treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, dementia, and child and adolescent mental health disorders. Her approach focuses on personalized care, therapeutic trust, and clinical excellence.

Her academic contributions include research and publications in the field of psychiatry, earning her accolades such as the Sigmund Freud Gold Medal and the Laxmi-Shanti Award. These honors reflect her dedication to advancing mental health knowledge and elevating the standards of psychiatric care.
