Dr. Bibek Nepal is a dedicated and highly trained Interventional Radiologist with specialized expertise in hepatic and transplant-related interventions at Nepal Mediciti. He completed his Fellowship in Hepatic and Transplant Interventional Radiology from Max Superspeciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, and holds an MD in Radiodiagnosis from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Kathmandu. Over the years, Dr. Nepal has gained diverse clinical experience through his roles at reputed institutions including Human Organ Transplant Center (HOTC), Kathmandu Cancer Center, Sindhuli Hospital, and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, among others.

His primary area of focus lies in liver and biliary interventions, including procedures such as Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) and Microwave Ablation (MWA) for liver tumors, Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma and metastases, Hepatic Venous Pressure Gradient (HVPG) measurement, Transjugular Liver Biopsy (TJLB), and advanced procedures like Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) and Balloon-Occluded Retrograde Transvenous Obliteration (BRTO). He is also skilled in Percutaneous Transhepatic Biliary Drainage (PTBD), stenting, and a variety of transplant-related interventions such as hepatic artery, hepatic vein, and portal vein thrombolysis or recanalization.

Beyond hepatobiliary procedures, Dr. Nepal is proficient in a wide range of image-guided oncology and nephrology interventions. These include CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies, FNACs, placement of tunneled and non-tunneled drains for malignant effusion and ascites, PICC line insertions, percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN), antegrade DJ stenting, dialysis catheter and permacath placements, and angioplasty for dialysis fistula salvage. He also performs thyroid and renal tumor ablations, breast fibroadenoma ablation, uterine artery embolization for fibroids, varicocele embolization, and varicose vein treatments using microwave ablation, laser, or sclerotherapy.
