Dr. Deependra Shrestha is a renowned ENT specialist and Principal Consultant in ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at Nepal Mediciti. He holds a Master of Surgery (MS) degree in ENT from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, and completed his MBBS from Chittagong Medical College. Dr. Shrestha’s advanced training includes prestigious fellowships in Head and Neck Onco-surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, and other global centers of excellence.
Widely regarded as one of the best ENT surgeons in Kathmandu, Dr. Shrestha leads key medical organizations, including serving as President of the Society of Otorhinolaryngologists of Nepal and Editor of the Journal of Nepal Medical Association. He is also the General Secretary of the American Nepal Medical Foundation and Vice President of the Nepalese Association of Thyroid, Laryngology, and Allied Sciences. His academic influence extends internationally as a Visiting Professor at Prince Songkla Medical Institute, Thailand.
Dr. Shrestha is instrumental in ENT education and public health, coordinating the Master of Surgery (ENT) program and serving as Member Secretary of the National Deafness Prevention Program under Nepal’s Ministry of Health. He played a central role in developing Nepal’s first National Strategy for Deafness Prevention.
Previously, Dr. Shrestha was Head of the Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, and held academic positions at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital and College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur. His clinical expertise includes complex ENT surgeries, head and neck cancer management, and innovative treatments for voice and hearing disorders.
