Dr. Deependra Shrestha

Dr. Deependra Shrestha is a distinguished academic and clinical expert in the field of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery, currently serving as the Principle consultant at Nepal Mediciti. With an extensive educational background, including a Master of Surgery (ENT) from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and an MBBS from Chittagong Medical College, Dr. Shrestha has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in his field. He further honed his expertise through prestigious global fellowships, including advanced training in Head and Neck Onco-surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, and various other specialized courses.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Shrestha holds several significant positions within the medical community. He is the President of the Society of Otorhinolaryngologist of Nepal, Editor of the Journal of Nepal Medical Association, and General Secretary of the American Nepal Medical Foundation. His contributions extend to international academia as a Visiting Professor at Prince Songkla Medical Institute, Thailand, and as Vice President of the Nepalese Association of Thyroid Laryngology and Allied. His leadership also includes roles such as Master of Surgery (ENT) Program Coordinator and Member Secretary for the National Deafness Prevention Program.
Dr. Shrestha was the Head of the Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery at the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Bir Hospital, where he also serves as the Master of Surgery (ENT) Program Coordinator. His extensive experience includes roles as Associate Professor and Lecturer positions at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital and the College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur. Dr. Shrestha has also worked as a Medical Officer in the Emergency and Medicine Department at Patan Hospital and in the Department of Surgery at Bir Hospital. Additionally, he is the Member Secretary for the National Deafness Prevention Program under the Health Ministry, Coordinator for the First National Strategy on Prevention of Deafness in Nepal, and General Secretary of the Faculty Doctors Association of NAMS.
