Dr. Jaya Ram Maharjan is a Consultant Physical Therapist and the Incharge of Orthopaedics and Sports at the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nepal Mediciti Hospital. He holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy, India; a Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) specializing in Musculoskeletal Disorders and Sports from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore; and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Montana, USA. Dr. Maharjan is certified in advanced Manual Therapy techniques (FIMT, COMT), Dry Needling, Biomechanical Taping, and Kinesiology Taping.

With over nine years of clinical experience, Dr. Maharjan specializes in orthopedic physical therapy and sports injury rehabilitation. Before joining Nepal Mediciti, he led the Physiotherapy Department at Fortis Hospital, Bangalore, where he gained extensive expertise in managing pain related to spinal disorders, peripheral joint conditions, and post-operative rehabilitation after total knee and hip replacements. His comprehensive approach includes effective treatment and prevention of sports injuries, contributing significantly to enhancing athletes' performance.

Dr. Maharjan has treated numerous national and international athletes, focusing on sports physiotherapy, injury prevention, and performance enhancement. His clinical expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of conditions such as cervicogenic headaches, vertigo, back pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain, heel pain, tendinopathy, myofascial pain syndrome, and post-fracture stiffness. Additionally, he is skilled in postural assessment and provides customized ergonomic training programs designed to promote corporate wellness.

An active contributor to the physiotherapy field, Dr. Maharjan regularly presents at national and international conferences and has published research articles in reputed physiotherapy journals. He is a life member of the Nepal Physiotherapy Association and the Indian Association of Physiotherapy, and holds professional memberships with the Capri Institute of Manual Therapy and Physioneed Academy.
