Principal Consultant
Lt. Col. Dr. Jyoti Rayamajhi is the Principal Consultant at the Department of General and Digestive Diseases Unit 2. She has specialized in general, GI, breast, and plastic and cosmetic surgeries. Her diverse expertise is complemented by her advanced training in Surgical Oncology and Breast Surgery, which she received in India, the USA, and Singapore, as well as a Fellowship in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgery from Medanta, India.
Dr. Rayamajhi's special interests include breast and oncoplastic surgery, as well as outreach work focused on raising awareness and mobilizing communities regarding breast cancer. Her extensive experience encompasses performing a wide range of procedures, including plastic, reconstructive, cosmetic, and breast onco surgeries, as well as laparoscopic, tertiary-level gastrointestinal, and hepato-biliary procedures. She also handles surgical emergencies and trauma cases and is involved in teaching and training medical students and resident surgeons from institutions such as the National Academy of Medical Sciences and the Nepalese Army Institute of Medical Science (NAIHS).
Dr. Rayamajhi has presented at numerous conferences and seminars, highlighting her contributions to the field. Her notable presentations include topics on early recurrence in breast carcinoma, comparative studies on hydrocele treatment, and innovative approaches in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Her academic and clinical work reflects her commitment to advancing surgical practices and improving patient care.
