Dr. Kajan Raj Shrestha is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti and an Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at the Institute of Medicine (IOM), MCVTC. With a distinguished career in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery in Nepal, Dr. Shrestha is recognized for his expertise in both clinical practice and academic excellence.
He completed his MBBS from Nepal Medical College (Kathmandu University) in 2005, pursued his MS in General Surgery at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in 2010, and earned an MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery from MCVTC, IOM in 2013. Further enhancing his skills, Dr. Shrestha completed a Fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in Leipzig, Germany, gaining international exposure and advanced surgical training.
Dr. Shrestha is actively involved in professional medical communities. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the Vascular Society of Nepal and is a dedicated member of the Surgical Society of Nepal and the Cardiac Society of Nepal. A strong advocate for research and education, he contributes to the scientific community as a peer reviewer for several respected journals, including the Journal of Surgical Society of Nepal, Nepal Health Research Journal, Journal of Surgical Case Reports, and International Journal of Surgical Case Reports.
