Dr. Kajan Raj Shrestha is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti and an Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at the Institute of Medicine (IOM), MCVTC. With a respected career in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, Dr. Shrestha is widely recognized for his clinical expertise and academic contributions in Nepal.
He completed his MBBS from Nepal Medical College, Kathmandu University in 2005, followed by an MS in General Surgery from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in 2010. He further specialized with an MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery from MCVTC, IOM in 2013. To gain advanced surgical skills and international exposure, Dr. Shrestha completed a prestigious Fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in Leipzig, Germany.
Dr. Shrestha actively participates in Nepal’s professional medical community. He currently holds the position of Treasurer of the Vascular Society of Nepal and is a committed member of both the Surgical Society of Nepal and the Cardiac Society of Nepal. His dedication to medical research and education is reflected in his role as a peer reviewer for several reputable journals, including the Journal of Surgical Society of Nepal, Nepal Health Research Journal, Journal of Surgical Case Reports, and International Journal of Surgical Case Reports.
