Dr. Lata Bajracharya Shakya is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with an illustrious career spanning several decades. She graduated from the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine & Research, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1984, and furthered her expertise by obtaining the FRCOG from the Royal Thai College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2003. In 2006, she completed a fellowship in Operative Laparoscopy in Gynaecology at Benefield Hospital in Germany. Her extensive experience includes a 27-year tenure at Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, one of Nepal's largest maternity facilities, where she eventually served as Director and Chairperson of the Development Board.

Dr. Bajracharya is renowned for her contributions to the field, including presenting at numerous national and international conferences and publishing influential research papers. Notable among her research are studies on the outcomes of instrumental deliveries (vacuum and forceps) on mothers and neonates, and the role of endoscopic surgery in infertility. Her work has significantly impacted obstetric and gynecological practices in Nepal.

In addition to her clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Bajracharya has actively contributed to community health by conducting health camps in rural areas of Nepal. These initiatives, carried out in collaboration with the Government of Nepal, various NGOs, and local community hospitals, reflect her commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for underserved populations.
