Dr. Lokendra Bahadur Sapkota

Consultant Biochemist


Dr. Lokendra Bahadur Sapkota is a Consultant Biochemist currently serving at Nepal Mediciti. With a rich academic background, Dr. Sapkota completed his MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree in Medical Biochemistry under a scholarship program at Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara, affiliated with Kathmandu University in October 2014. Prior to his current role, he served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital (CMCTH), Tribhuvan University.

Motivated by teamwork, Dr. Sapkota thrives in collaborative environments and brings a wealth of experience and laboratory skills to his work. His expertise spans from routine biochemical tests to specialized analyses, including handling both semi-automated and fully automated chemistry analyzers, dry chemistry, electrochemistry, PCR techniques, chromatography, and supervision of the quality assessment program of the hospital biochemistry laboratory.

In addition to his clinical proficiency, Dr. Sapkota is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring activities. He engages in teaching-learning activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducts problem-based learning sessions, and imparts his knowledge in emergency settings to fellowship residents. Dr. Sapkota has published numerous articles in national and international journals and is also an Academic Editor of the Asian Journal of Research in Medical and Pharmaceutical Science and the Medical Journal of Clinical Trials & Case Studies (MJCCS). His dedication to education and research underscores his commitment to advancing the field of biochemistry and nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals in Nepal.
