Dr. Mahesh Bahadur Adhikari is the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Urology at Nepal Mediciti. In addition to his role at Nepal Mediciti, Dr. Adhikari supervises a postgraduate program in Urology (FCPS Urology) under the CPSP program from Pakistan. With over 20 years of experience in the field, he is recognized as one of the most seasoned urosurgeons in Nepal, having significantly contributed to the development of endourology services across various hospitals in Kathmandu and beyond. His expertise in managing urinary stone and prostate diseases has greatly benefited thousands of patients in Nepal.

Before joining Nepal Mediciti, Dr. Adhikari served for over 15 years as a Senior Consultant at a leading private hospital in Nepal and as an Assistant Professor at Kathmandu University Medical School for six years. He graduated from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) with an MS in General Surgery in 2002, following his MBBS in 1997. Dr. Adhikari furthered his expertise with fellowships in Urology and Uro-Oncology at the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore in 2007 and 2016, respectively, and has participated in various international urological fellowship programs, including those in Japan.

Dr. Adhikari is a prominent figure in the academic sector of urology in Nepal, with numerous publications in national and international journals. He regularly presents at urology conferences and has performed live demonstrations, such as the PCNL at the Asian Endourology Conference in 2011. He is currently the President and Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Nepal Association of Urological Surgeons (NAUS) and has previously held roles as executive member, treasurer, and General Secretary. Dr. Adhikari remains actively involved with the Urological Association of Asia, the American Urological Association, and the International Society of Urology.
