Dr. Mika Shakya is a consultant ophthalmologist at Nepal Mediciti Hospital with a strong academic foundation and extensive clinical experience. She completed her MBBS from Chongqing Medical University, China, and subsequently pursued an MD in Ophthalmology from UCMS-TH. Recognizing the importance of specialized expertise, Dr. Shakya further enhanced her skills by completing a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uvea at the esteemed Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Shakya's professional journey encompasses a diverse range of clinical settings. she has served as an Ophthalmologist at Kirtipur Eye Hospital and as a Registrar at Civil Service Hospital, gaining valuable experience in various aspects of ophthalmic care. She has also served as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Fateh Bal Eye Hospital, demonstrating her expertise and dedication to patient care. Prior to specializing in Ophthalmology, Dr. Shakya held positions as a Medical Officer at Patan Hospital and Medicare National Hospital and Research Center, further broadening her clinical experience.

Dr. Shakya's commitment to professional development is evident through her participation in various training programs, including a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uvea, training in Health Research Proposal Writing, and courses on Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and STABLE. She has also received training in Good Clinical Practice and has participated in the ION Donald update course in Ultrasound.
