Dr. Mika Shakya is a consultant ophthalmologist at Nepal Mediciti, renowned for her strong academic foundation and extensive clinical experience in eye care. She earned her MBBS degree from Chongqing Medical University, China, and went on to complete her MD in Ophthalmology from UCMS-TH. To gain advanced specialized expertise, Dr. Shakya completed a prestigious Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uvea at the acclaimed Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology.

Her professional journey spans a variety of clinical environments. Dr. Shakya has worked as an Ophthalmologist at Kirtipur Eye Hospital and served as a Registrar at Civil Service Hospital, gaining comprehensive experience in diagnosing and managing eye diseases. She also worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Fateh Bal Eye Hospital, further demonstrating her dedication to providing high-quality patient care. Prior to specializing in ophthalmology, she gained valuable clinical exposure as a Medical Officer at Patan Hospital and Medicare National Hospital and Research Center.

Dr. Shakya is committed to continuous professional development. She has completed advanced training programs, including a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uvea, Health Research Proposal Writing, and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and STABLE neonatal care. Additionally, she has undergone training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and participated in the ION Donald Ultrasound Update Course.
