Dr. Neer Shobha Chitrakar is the Principal Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Nepal Mediciti, bringing over 30 years of dedicated experience in women's health, reproductive care, and advanced gynecological procedures. She is recognized as one of Nepal’s leading OB-GYN specialists, known for her clinical excellence and leadership in maternal and reproductive health.
Dr. Chitrakar earned her MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from NAMS, Kathmandu, in 2007, following a diploma in OBGYN from the University of Dhaka in 1999 and an MBBS from Kharkov Medical Institute, Ukraine, in 1993. Her international academic background and advanced training have contributed to her expertise in managing complex gynecological conditions.
As a certified IVF clinician, Dr. Chitrakar also holds advanced credentials in aesthetic and regenerative gynecology, staying at the forefront of innovative treatments in women’s healthcare. She has served as a trainer in national reproductive health programs, including Cervical Cancer Screening, Medical Abortion, Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC), and Basic Emergency Obstetric Care (BEOC)—demonstrating her commitment to capacity-building and public health advocacy.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Chitrakar is a published researcher, with contributions to key studies on pre-induction cervical ripening, ovarian teratomas, and maternal healthcare challenges in Nepal. Her academic work has influenced evidence-based practices in obstetrics and gynecology across the country.
Prior to joining Nepal Mediciti, Dr. Chitrakar served as the Head of Department and Consultant OBGYN at Civil Service Hospital for over 13 years and spent more than 15 years at the Paropakar Shree Panch IndraRajya Laxmi Devi Maternity Hospital, one of Nepal’s most respected maternity institutions.
Dr. Chitrakar is a highly respected member of multiple professional bodies, including the Nepal Medical Council (NMC), Nepal Medical Association (NMA), Perinatal Society of Nepal, Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (NESOG), and the Nepal Fertility Care Center.
