Principal Consultant
Dr. Neeraj Joshi graduated from the University of Rajasthan in 1995 and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and Bir Hospital, earning his MD in 1999. He was honored with the Prof. GP Acharya Gold Medal as the best MD graduate. In 2000, he went to the UK and trained in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Morriston Hospital Swansea, and University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. After obtaining his CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training), he worked as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at Royal Glamorgan Hospital in the UK. As a consultant, he trained junior doctors in Gastroenterology, led a group of doctors in managing complex gastrointestinal and liver disease patients, and planned departmental policies on endoscopy. During his tenure at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, he also served as an Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff before moving to Nepal in December 2010.
Dr. Joshi was a visiting faculty member at Nepal Medical College, where he taught Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and endoscopic procedures to postgraduate trainees. He also trained in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad and has performed over a thousand EUS procedures in Nepal. Additionally, he has published several articles in national and international journals, mostly on liver disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Dr. Joshi has been practicing Internal Medicine since 1995 and Gastroenterology & Liver Disease since 2000. He has been trained in advanced therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures, EUS, and ERCP. In addition, his areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and functional gut disorder. He also has a keen interest in ethical and evidence-based medicine and believes in providing holistic care tailored to each patient.
