Principal Consultant
Dr. Neeraj Joshi graduated from University of Rajasthan in 1995 and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and Bir Hospital to earn his MD in 1999. He was honoured with Prof GP Acharya Gold medal as the the best MD graduate. He then went to the UK in 2000 and trained in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Morriston Hospital Swansea and University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. After obtaining his CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training), he went on to work as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist in Royal Glamorgan Hospital in the UK. As a consultant, he would train junior doctors in Gastroenterology, lead a group of doctors in managing complex gastrointestinal and liver disease patients and plan departmental policies on endoscopy. During his tenure at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, he also worked as an Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist in University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff before moving to Nepal in December 2010. Dr Joshi was also a visiting faculty at Nepal Medical College where he taught Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures to postgraduate trainees. He was also trained in (EUS) Endoscopic Ultrasound at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology at Hyderabad and has performed over a thousand EUS procedures in Nepal. He also has a few publications in national and international journals, mostly on liver disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Special Interest
Dr. Joshi has been practising Internal Medicine since 1995 and Gastroenterology & Liver Disease since 2000. He has been trained in advanced therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures, EUS and ERCP. In addition, his areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and functional gut disorder. He also has a keen interest in ethical and evidence based medicine and believes in providing a holistic care tailored to each patient.
