Dr. Om Biju Panta
Associate Consultant
Dr. Om Biju Panta is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Radiology and Imaging at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. In his role, he performs a wide range of image-guided minimally invasive procedures that offer alternatives to major surgeries. Dr. Panta’s expertise in this field includes advanced techniques such as Uterine Fibroid Embolization and Thyroid Ablation, which he has significantly advanced within Nepal.
He completed his MBBS at Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara and his MD in Radiodiagnosis from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. To further specialize, Dr. Panta undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. Annually, he performs over 1,500 interventional procedures, showcasing his extensive experience and skill in this domain.
Dr. Panta is also deeply engaged in resident training and frequently contributes to national conferences to advance the field of interventional radiology. His special interests include uterine artery embolization for fibroids, tumor ablation in the liver, lungs, and kidneys, and the ablation of benign thyroid nodules. His contributions to the field are further evidenced by his numerous publications in reputable journals and his active participation in workshops and presentations on interventional radiology techniques.
