Dr. Pradeep Krishna Shrestha is the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Nepal Mediciti. He is a Professor and immediate past Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology Unit at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Institute of Medicine. He has a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India. He worked in Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom (UK) for several years. He trained in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at the Division of Gastroenterology at the International Medical Center of Japan, Tokyo. 

He has done extensive work in liver diseases, H. Pylori-related gastrointestinal diseases, and Diabetes in Nepal and published, and presented several research papers on them. He received the Best Scientific Paper Awards in Liver Diseases in Nepal and Diabetes Mellitus in Nepal at home and abroad. He was honored with a Certificate of Honor by MBBS students at TUTH for being an exceptional teacher. He is an advisor to the Diabetes and Endocrinology Association of Nepal (DEAN).

 

His passion since 2000 AD i.e. 23 years in Diabetes Mellitus and work focusing on uniqueness in Nepalese Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and managing them with specific individualized care expertly continues. As the saying goes, "If you know Diabetes you know Internal Medicine", Internal Medicine and internist practice is close to his heart.
