Dr. Pradez Sapkota is a Consultant Hepato-Biliary, Pancreatic and Liver Transplant Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti, with over 15 years of surgical experience spanning Nepal, India, the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and the United States.
He completed his post-doctoral fellowship in HBP and Liver Transplant Surgery at the Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Center, Chennai, India, and completed his five-year General Surgery residency training at Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila, Philippines. He earned his MBBS degree from Weifang Medical University, China. Dr. Sapkota has also undergone clinical trainings in The United States, South Korea, and Thailand as a visiting fellow. Recently, he completed a year-long Advanced Clinical training in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital, Japan.
Dr. Sapkota is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and has been registered as a Liver Transplant Surgeon under the Organ Transplantation Coordination Committee of the Government of Nepal since 2021. He is also an active member of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS), The Transplantation Society (TTS), and the Nepalese Society of Organ Transplantation (NESOT).
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Sapkota is the Founder and President of the Nepal Organ Donation Foundation, an organisation committed to advancing organ donation awareness and strengthening the infrastructure for sustainable Organ Donation and liver transplantation in Nepal. He is a recognised speaker at international forums, including ILTS , TTS and HPBA conferences, and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in the fields of liver transplantation, organ donation, thoracic surgery, and surgical nutrition.
