Associate Consultant
Dr. Prakash Paudel is an Associate Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spine Specialist at Nepal Mediciti, renowned for his expertise in both spine and brain-related pathologies. He graduated with an MBBS from Maharajgunj Medical Campus Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, in 2009, and subsequently completed a five-year neurosurgery residency in Pakistan, where he earned a Gold Medal. Dr. Paudel further enhanced his skills with a one-year fellowship in clinical spine surgery in Canada, specializing in tumor and complex spinal surgeries. He is notably the first fellowship-trained spine surgeon among Nepalese neurosurgeons.
Dr. Paudel’s clinical practice encompasses over 500 spine surgeries, including routine, emergency, and complex cases. His extensive experience covers a wide range of spinal conditions such as spine trauma, spinal cord injuries, craniocervical junction anomalies, and degenerative spine diseases. He also manages brain tumors, hydrocephalus, congenital brain and spine diseases, and peripheral nerve disorders. His areas of special interest include spinal surgery, neuro-endoscopy, neuro-oncology, and pediatric neurosurgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Paudel is actively involved in international professional organizations and research. He has authored numerous research articles and presented his findings at various national and international forums. His research focuses on improving surgical outcomes and minimizing complications. Dr. Paudel is dedicated to clear, patient-centered communication, aiming to optimize treatment outcomes through both conservative and surgical approaches. His past roles include clinical spine fellow at London Health Science Center, and consultant neurosurgeon at several prominent hospitals in Nepal.
