Dr. Prakash Poudel

Dr. Prakash Poudel is the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Nephrology and Organ Transplant at Nepal Mediciti, Lalitpur, Nepal, a position he has held since 2020. Before joining Nepal Mediciti, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Nephrology at Nepal Medical College under Kathmandu University from 2012 to 2020. Dr. Poudel completed his MD in Internal Medicine (Nephrology) from Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China, in 2012, and earned his Medical Education degree equivalent to MBBS from Vitebsk State Medical University, Belarus.
Dr. Poudel has significantly contributed to the field of nephrology through numerous publications during his tenure at Nepal Medical College and is currently engaged in ongoing research. He is a life member and Executive Committee Member of the Nepal Society of Nephrology and also holds membership with the American Society of Nephrology.
His extensive work experience includes serving as a Medical Officer and Chief Medical Officer at Om Hospital and Research Center in Kathmandu (2001-2008) and as the Founder Director at Star Hospital in Lalitpur (2006-2009). Dr. Poudel's rich background and ongoing contributions continue to advance nephrology and organ transplant care at Nepal Mediciti.
