Dr. Prasanna Karki is a Consultant Neurointerventional Neurosurgeon at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in advanced, minimally invasive treatments for complex neurovascular diseases. With extensive expertise in managing acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, carotid artery stenosis, and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), Dr. Karki employs cutting-edge interventional techniques that reduce patient pain, lower procedural risks, and promote faster recovery compared to traditional neurosurgical methods.
Her specialized treatments significantly benefit patients suffering from brain trauma, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and pediatric brain tumors, offering innovative solutions for challenging neurological conditions.
Dr. Karki completed her MBBS at Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital in 2009 and earned her MD and Ph.D. in Neurosurgery from the prestigious Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences at Kagoshima University Hospital, Japan, in 2015. She has held key positions as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Lecturer at Annapurna Neurological Hospital and Nepalgunj Medical College, and Teaching Hospital.
After four successful years at Nepal Mediciti Hospital, she further enhanced her expertise through a specialized Clinical Fellowship in Neurointerventional Surgery at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand.
Dr. Karki has contributed significantly to neurosurgical research, with 27 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, reflecting her dedication to advancing neurosurgery through innovative, minimally invasive techniques that improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
