Dr. Prasanna Karki

Associate Consultant

Dr. Prasanna Karki is an Associate Consultant and Neurointerventional Neurosurgeon at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in minimally invasive treatments for neurovascular diseases. Her expertise includes managing acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, carotid stenosis, and arteriovenous malformations using advanced interventional techniques. These approaches aim to minimize pain and reduce risks compared to more invasive procedures, significantly benefiting patients with conditions such as brain trauma, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and pediatric brain tumors.

Dr. Karki completed her MBBS at Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital in 2009 and went on to earn her MD and Ph.D. in Neurosurgery from the Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences at Kagoshima University Hospital in Japan in 2015. Her professional journey includes roles at Annapurna Neurological Hospital and Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital, where she served as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Lecturer. Her tenure at Mediciti Hospital spanned four years before she pursued a one-year Clinical Fellowship in Neurointerventional Surgery at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Thailand.

In addition to her clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Karki has published 27 peer-reviewed articles in both national and international journals. Her research and contributions to the field of neurosurgery highlight her commitment to advancing patient care and improving surgical outcomes through innovative and less-invasive techniques.
