Dr. Rabin Sharma is a highly experienced Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in the diagnosis and advanced treatment of a wide range of gastroenterological and hepatological disorders. He holds an MBBS from MCOMS Pokhara, an MD in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore, and a DM in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, Nepal.
Dr. Sharma has gained extensive clinical expertise managing complex luminal gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, pancreatic and biliary disorders, and systemic GI conditions. He enhanced his skills through advanced specialized training at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, focusing on both noninvasive and invasive gastroenterology and hepatology procedures.
His clinical proficiency includes the treatment of common and complex gastrointestinal disorders such as stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, and obesity, with a strong focus on advanced endoscopic therapies. Dr. Sharma is skilled in therapeutic endoscopic procedures including variceal band ligation, sclerotherapy, balloon and bougie dilatation, glue injection for fundal varices, and endoscopic management of bleeding ulcers. His expertise extends to adult and pediatric upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG).
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sharma is actively involved in gastroenterology research and academics. He regularly participates in national and international gastroenterology conferences, therapeutic endoscopy workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) programs. His published research articles and case reports highlight his dedication to advancing gastroenterology and hepatology care in Nepal.
Dr. Sharma is also committed to teaching and mentoring postgraduate medical students, nursing staff, and paramedical professionals, playing a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare providers in gastroenterology.
