Dr. Rabin Sharma is a highly experienced Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gastroenterological and hepatological conditions. He completed his MBBS from MCOMS Pokhara, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore. He further enhanced his expertise by earning a DM in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, Nepal.
After his DM, Dr. Sharma gained extensive clinical experience at Vayodha Hospitals, Kathmandu, managing complex luminal, hepatic, pancreatic, biliary, and systemic gastrointestinal diseases. He has also completed advanced specialized training in both noninvasive and invasive gastroenterology and hepatology at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Dr. Sharma’s clinical expertise includes the management of various gastrointestinal disorders such as stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver diseases, and pancreaticobiliary disorders, along with advanced endoscopic management of obesity. He is proficient in a wide range of therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including variceal band ligation, sclerotherapy, balloon and bougie dilatation, glue injection for fundal varices, and endoscopic treatment of bleeding ulcers. His skills cover adult and pediatric upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG).
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Sharma is actively involved in research and academics. He regularly participates in national and international conferences, therapeutic endoscopy workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) programs. His published articles and case reports demonstrate his commitment to advancing gastroenterology and hepatology in Nepal. Dr. Sharma is also dedicated to teaching and mentoring postgraduate students, nursing staff, and paramedical professionals, contributing significantly to the education of future healthcare providers.
