Dr. Ram Babu Sah is a highly experienced Consultant Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Liver Transplant Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti. With a robust academic background and extensive clinical expertise, Dr. Sah has made significant contributions to liver transplantation and complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeries.
He has held prestigious positions at leading healthcare institutions, including Shahid Dharma Bhakta National Transplant Centre (Nepal), Indraprastha Apollo Hospital (New Delhi, India), and Korea University Anam Hospital (Seoul, South Korea). Dr. Sah earned his PhD in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and a Master’s degree in General Surgery from Sichuan University, China, reflecting his commitment to advancing surgical excellence through research and innovation.
Dr. Sah specializes in performing adult and pediatric liver transplant surgeries, as well as advanced hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic procedures. He is skilled in both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) complex abdominal surgeries. His expert clinical care includes treating conditions such as liver cirrhosis, jaundice, fatty liver disease, hepatitis, acute liver failure, liver abscess, liver cysts, liver tumors, gallbladder and bile duct stones, gallbladder cancer, acute and chronic pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer.
Additionally, Dr. Sah manages paediatric liver diseases, including Wilson’s disease, congenital biliary atresia, and progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC).
He is a registered member of the Nepal Medical Council and holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Nepal Medical Association and the Surgical Society of Nepal.
