Dr. Ritesh Shrestha is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti, renowned for his expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and thoracoscopic procedures. His specialized practice focuses on neonatal surgery and paediatric urology, delivering expert surgical care to young patients with complex conditions.

Dr. Shrestha holds an MS in General Surgery with distinction from Nepal Medical College and completed a specialized fellowship in Paediatric Surgery at GRIPMER, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He earned his MBBS degree from Kathmandu University, forming a strong foundation for his surgical career.

Before joining Nepal Mediciti Hospital, Dr. Shrestha served as an Assistant Professor at Nepal Medical College for nearly ten years and worked as a Consultant General and Paediatric Surgeon at Vayodha Hospital. He actively contributes to the medical community through membership in the Nepal Medical Association and engagement with key initiatives such as the Nepal Breast Cancer Foundation and the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS). His commitment to improving healthcare access extends to remote regions through his collaboration with Health Partnership Nepal.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to paediatric surgery, Dr. Shrestha was awarded the prestigious Hugh Greenwood Fellowship by the British Association of Pediatric Surgeons in 2017. This fellowship enabled advanced training at St George’s Hospital, London, further honing his skills in cutting-edge paediatric surgical techniques.
