Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in 2009. For a decade, she served as a dedicated clinician and educator at Patan Academy of Health Sciences and Kathmandu Medical College, mentoring MBBS students and MD residents from 2009 to 2019.
In pursuit of advancing maternal-fetal care, Dr. Manandhar undertook subspecialty training in Fetal Medicine at the Apollo Centre for Fetal Medicine, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, in 2020. After completing two years of intensive training in fetal screening, diagnosis, and interventions, she returned to Nepal with a renewed vision to elevate prenatal care.
In 2022, she established the Fetal Medicine Unit at Nepal Mediciti, offering comprehensive prenatal and genetic screening, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and specialized obstetric imaging for early detection and management of fetal anomalies and genetic conditions. This unit also performs invasive fetal procedures, a highly specialized service available in only a few centers across Nepal.
Under her leadership, the unit has introduced dedicated services such as multiple pregnancy (twin) clinics, fetal brain clinics, and fetal growth restriction management. Dr. Manandhar holds a strong interest in the screening and prevention of preeclampsia and preterm delivery, addressing some of the most critical public health challenges in maternal care in Nepal.
With a mission to establish Fetal Medicine as a vital subspecialty in the country, Dr. Manandhar is committed to delivering world-class maternal and fetal care that aligns with global standards. Her work not only enhances clinical outcomes but also brings a new dimension to academic medicine in Nepal.
