Dr. Samata Sharma is a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist at Nepal Mediciti, passionate about advancing comprehensive eye care services both in Nepal and globally. With over ten years of professional experience, she has established a strong reputation for providing exceptional patient care, advanced surgical expertise, and leading impactful community outreach programs focused on improving eye health.

Dr. Sharma earned her MD in Ophthalmology from the renowned Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Nepal’s premier eye care and training institution. She further enhanced her specialization by completing prestigious fellowships in Oculoplastics, Lacrimal, and Orbital Surgery at Aichi Medical University Hospital in Japan, as well as in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology. Committed to continuous professional development, Dr. Sharma has also participated in advanced training programs, including Advanced Life Support and Scientific Writing workshops.

Her clinical expertise covers a wide range of ophthalmic procedures, including adult and pediatric cataract surgeries, pterygium excision, Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), blepharoplasty, strabismus correction surgeries, and various eyelid and canalicular repair techniques. Notably, Dr. Sharma has performed over 20,000 cataract surgeries as the primary surgeon, demonstrating her exceptional surgical skills and extensive experience in ophthalmology.
