Dr. Satyam Rimal Upadhyay is a Principal Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Nepal Mediciti, bringing over 19 years of specialized clinical expertise. He earned his MBBS from Dhaka University, completed his MD in Paediatrics at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore (under Karnataka University), and holds a prestigious Fellowship in Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the Institute of Child Health, Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi.
Dr. Rimal specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex gastrointestinal and hepatological disorders in children. His expert skills include performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, variceal banding, esophageal dilatation, and foreign body removal, making him one of Nepal’s leading paediatric gastroenterologists.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rimal has a strong commitment to medical education and research. He served as an Associate Professor of Paediatrics at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital, actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students and training postgraduate MD residents. He also held the position of Deputy Hospital Director at the same institution, demonstrating leadership in hospital administration.
Dr. Rimal has contributed significantly to paediatric gastroenterology through numerous research publications in peer-reviewed journals. He regularly attends advanced workshops and international conferences to stay updated with the latest developments in his field, ensuring the highest quality of care for his patients.
He currently serves as an executive member and Co-Chair of the Paediatric Gastroenterology Chapter of the Nepal Paediatric Society (NEPAS), reflecting his leadership role in advancing paediatric gastroenterology services and education in Nepal.
