Dr. Senny Chapagain is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in cataract and anterior segment surgery. She earned her MBBS from Kathmandu Medical College and pursued an MD in Ophthalmology at the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology. Her advanced training in Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgery was completed at Geta Eye Hospital, equipping her with extensive skills in these areas. She has also completed her fellowship in Oculoplastics from Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA.
With over 10,000 cataract surgeries performed, Dr. Chapagain has played a pivotal role in introducing and advancing phacoemulsification and other anterior segment surgical techniques at Nepal Mediciti. Her contributions extend beyond clinical practice, as she has also served as an Academic Coordinator and Cataract Surgery Trainer, actively engaging in the education and training of residents and junior consultants.
Dr. Chapagain's expertise is recognized through her participation in numerous national and international conferences across the United States, Europe, and Asia, and she has multiple publications in prestigious journals. Her special interests include cataract surgery, oculoplastics, and aesthetic surgery. Her past roles include Consultant Ophthalmologist at Geta Eye Hospital and Reyukai Eiko Masunaga Eye Hospital, where she was also involved in academic coordination and training.
