Prof. Dr. Shishir Lakhey

Prof. Dr. Shishir has been instrumental in the inception and establishment of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Nepal Mediciti Hospital and has been providing Orthopaedic services as the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Services since it became operational on September 17, 2017. He has worked in Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) as a Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery before he joined Nepal Mediciti. He had also worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in the National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences (NINAS), and Himal Hospital, Kathmandu before joining Nepal Mediciti. He had worked at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery before joining Kathmandu Medical College in 2003.
He has nineteen years of experience teaching MBBS students and twelve years of teaching postgraduate (MS Orthopaedics) residents. He also taught B.Sc nursing students for four years while at BPKIHS. He has been a past examiner for MBBS students of Kathmandu and Tribhuwan Universities and MS (Orthopaedic) students of Kathmandu University and BPKIHS.
