Dr. Suchita Shrestha Joshi is the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Neonatology at Nepal Mediciti. She earned her MBBS from Sylhet Osmani Medical College in Bangladesh and completed her MRCPCh in the UK. Dr. Joshi also holds a Ph.D. from Cardiff University, UK, focusing on long-term cardio-respiratory outcomes in children with chronic lung disease of prematurity. With over a decade of experience in neonatology, she specializes in the care of sick and premature infants.
Dr. Joshi has a distinguished research background, with over 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals and numerous presentations at international clinical meetings. Her achievements include receiving the David Ferguson Neonatal Award for Best Junior Doctor in 2006 and being appointed as a Walport Clinical Academic Research Fellow the following year. As an Assistant Professor at Patan Academy of Health Sciences, she played a crucial role in teaching and training programs related to paediatric advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation.
Currently, Dr. Joshi oversees the Basic Neonatal Life Support Training Program at Nepal Mediciti and chairs several key committees, including the Clinical Audit and Patient Safety Committee. Her expertise extends to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols in Nepal, where she has been instrumental in shaping newborn care practices through her work with the Nepal Paediatric Society Newborn Committee.
