Dr. Suchita Shrestha Joshi is a leading neonatologist in Nepal, serving as the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Neonatology at Nepal Mediciti. With over a decade of clinical experience, she specializes in the care of sick and premature newborns, delivering expert neonatal intensive care to the most vulnerable patients.

Dr. Joshi completed her MBBS at Sylhet Osmani Medical College in Bangladesh and earned her MRCPCH (Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health) in the United Kingdom. She further advanced her academic credentials with a Ph.D. from Cardiff University, UK, where her research focused on long-term cardio-respiratory outcomes in children with chronic lung disease of prematurity.

Renowned for her academic and research excellence, Dr. Joshi has authored over 10 peer-reviewed journal publications and has delivered numerous presentations at international clinical conferences. Her accolades include the David Ferguson Neonatal Award for Best Junior Doctor (2006) and her appointment as a Walport Clinical Academic Research Fellow (2007).

In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr. Joshi is an experienced educator. She previously served as an Assistant Professor at Patan Academy of Health Sciences, where she was actively involved in paediatric advanced life support (PALS) and neonatal resuscitation training programs. Currently, she leads the Basic Neonatal Life Support Training Program at Nepal Mediciti, equipping healthcare professionals with life-saving skills.

Dr. Joshi also plays a vital leadership role in healthcare quality and policy. She chairs the Clinical Audit and Patient Safety Committee at Nepal Mediciti and contributes to national-level neonatal care guidelines. As a key member of the Nepal Paediatric Society Newborn Committee, she has significantly influenced the development of clinical protocols and standards for newborn care across Nepal.
