Dr. Sushil Rawal is the Head of the Department of General Surgery and Digestive Diseases, Unit-2 at Nepal Mediciti. With a distinguished career spanning 35 years in the Nepali army, he brings a wealth of experience to his role as a senior consultant surgeon. Dr. Rawal's expertise includes advanced gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgeries, supported by extensive formal training and fellowships.

Dr. Rawal's training includes advanced fellowships in GIHPB and liver transplantation surgery from prestigious institutions such as Madigan Army Medical Center, USA (2006), Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi, India (2008), Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan (2011), and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai (2014). His vast experience and training underscore his commitment to excellence in surgical care.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Rawal is highly motivated and team-oriented, with a strong focus on teaching and learning. He is dedicated to developing research and continued medical education within the department, and his experience includes teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and GI MCh students. His compassionate approach and leadership in the field reflect his commitment to advancing surgical practices and education.

He is trained in mass casualty and trauma management, at Rambam Hospital Hifa Israel. He is well known for his experience in the management of trauma and critically injured patients in the military service. 

He has commanded various military medical units in International missions abroad and within the country. Since 2021 he has joined Nepal Mediciti Hospital as a full-time commitment with premature retirement from the Nepal Military Medical Corp, the rank of Brigadier General from the portfolio of Clinical Registrar of Shree Birendra Army Hospital.
