Medical Oncologist
Dr. Susmita Sharma is a highly qualified Consultant Medical Oncologist at Nepal Mediciti, known for her exceptional academic credentials and broad clinical expertise in medical oncology. She holds a Fellowship in Hemato-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation from the prestigious Huntsman Cancer Institute, USA, an MD in Medical Oncology from Tianjin Medical University, China, and an MBBS from Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital, Jorpati. Her diverse and international training background highlights her commitment to delivering world-class cancer care.
Before joining Nepal Mediciti, Dr. Sharma built a solid foundation in oncology through her work at multiple prominent healthcare institutions in Nepal. She began her medical career at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, later serving at Bir Hospital, a leading government medical center, for over two years. She then worked as a Consultant in the Department of Medical Oncology at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center (NCHRC), Lalitpur, for more than five years. Her hands-on experience across both public and private healthcare sectors has equipped her with deep insights into cancer management and patient care.
Dr. Sharma’s contributions to oncology go beyond clinical practice. She is a registered medical oncologist with the Nepal Medical Council (NMC) and is actively engaged in cancer research, public health awareness programs, and the formulation of oncology policies and treatment guidelines in Nepal.
She is a founder and life member of the Nepalese Society of Medical Oncology (NESMO) and holds memberships in several esteemed international organizations, including the SAARC Federation of Oncologists Nepal (SFON), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). These affiliations enable her to stay updated with global advancements in cancer care and contribute to raising the standard of oncology services in Nepal.
Known for her clinical excellence, compassionate approach, and commitment to continuous learning, Dr. Susmita Sharma is regarded as one of the leading female medical oncologists in Nepal, dedicated to improving cancer treatment outcomes and patient well-being.
