Prof. Dr. Arju Chand Singh is the Principal Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Nepal Mediciti, one of the leading hospitals in Nepal. With over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Singh is widely recognized for her exceptional surgical skills, diagnostic accuracy, and compassionate approach to patient care. She is especially renowned for her ability to manage complex gynecological and obstetric cases, earning the trust of thousands of patients across Nepal. Her dedication to women’s healthcare and her spotless medical reputation set her apart as a national leader in the field.

Dr. Singh completed her MBBS from the University of Science & Technology, Bangladesh, and earned her Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from NAMS Prasuti Griha in 2009. Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH), which enables her to integrate clinical practice with a broader understanding of public health needs. Her advanced training includes laparoscopic surgery, comprehensive abortion care (CAC), and other essential procedures that are vital to modern women’s health services in Nepal.

Dr. Arju Singh served with distinction in the Nepal Army for 21 years, significantly contributing to the development of obstetric and gynecologic care within military medical services. She made history as the first Commandant of the Army Medical Hospital in Pokhara, playing a crucial leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her international service as a UN Force Medical Officer in the Middle East allowed her to manage healthcare delivery in high-conflict zones, enriching her global medical perspective and enhancing her ability to handle critical care scenarios in Nepal.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Singh is a respected medical educator and mentor. She has guided postgraduate students and acted as a thesis supervisor at the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS). She also contributes to the education of undergraduate medical and nursing students, reinforcing her commitment to developing future healthcare professionals. Her scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications and service on editorial boards, underlining her dedication to advancing medical research and education in Nepal.

Dr. Singh is an active member of the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) and has previously served as an executive member of the Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (NESOG). She is also a recognized voice in public health communication, raising awareness about maternal care, reproductive rights, and preventive gynecological health. Her advocacy work continues to impact Nepali women both nationally and within the global diaspora, empowering communities through health education and access to quality care.
