Consultant
Prof. Dr. Rabindra L. Pradhan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti, specializing in advanced spine surgery. He completed his MBBS in 1991 and earned a PhD in Orthopaedics from Akita University, Japan, in 2001. Since establishing the Orthopaedic Department at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital (KMCTH) in 2001, Dr. Pradhan has been a pioneering force in introducing and advancing modern spine surgery in Nepal.
Recognized as a leading authority in spine care and surgery, Dr. Pradhan has completed fellowships at prestigious international spine centers and currently serves as the Asia Pacific Regional Faculty of AO Spine. He is also the Country Leader for AO Spine International, the world’s largest global spine society, reflecting his global influence in spine surgery.
Dr. Pradhan is deeply committed to the growth and development of spine care in Nepal. He has chaired numerous national and international spine seminars, conducted hands-on spine surgery workshops, and successfully organized two live spine surgery courses as the Organizing Chairman. His efforts have significantly enhanced the surgical skills and knowledge of spine professionals across Nepal.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Pradhan actively engages in orthopaedic research, clinical teaching, and innovations in spine surgery. He is a respected faculty member for the AO PEER (Program for Education and Excellence in Research) course in the Asia Pacific region, demonstrating his dedication to advancing spine surgery education and research.
