Prof. Dr. Rabindra L. Pradhan is the Chief of Spine Services and Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital (KMCTH). He completed his MBBS in 1991 and earned his PhD in 2001 from Akita University, Japan. Since the inception of the Orthopaedic Department at KMCTH in 2001, Dr. Pradhan has been a key figure in advancing modern spine surgery, having completed fellowships at several prestigious international institutes.
Dr. Pradhan is a leading spine surgeon in Nepal, serving as the Asia Pacific regional faculty of AOSpine and currently holding the position of country leader for the largest spine group in the world. He is dedicated to expanding spine services across Nepal, and has chaired numerous seminars and hands-on workshops. Additionally, he has organized two live spine surgery courses in Nepal as the organizing chairman.
In his role as a Consultant Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti, Dr. Pradhan is deeply involved in orthopaedic research and teaching. He also contributes as faculty for the AO PEER course program in the Asia Pacific region, reflecting his commitment to advancing spine care and education in the field.
