Spine Injury

Spinal cord injury is a damage to the spinal cord that causes temporary or permanent changes in its function. It can occur at any level of the spinal cord and can be complete, with a total loss of function below the level of the injury, or incomplete, with some function remaining. The injury can lead to serious disability and complications, and the treatment and rehabilitation process of SCI is long, expensive, and requires multidisciplinary approach.

Treatment

Treatment for spine injuries, sciatica and other spine conditions varies depending on the type and severity of the problem, but may include rest, physical therapy, medication, and surgery. Spine clinics may also offer preventative care, such as exercise programs and ergonomic assessments to help patients maintain a healthy spine and prevent future injuries. Some of the spine conditions including sciatica may become better by key hole (endoscopic) spine surgeries, which is a minimally invasive procedure, and the patient can be discharged from the hospital on the same day of surgery.
