The Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation at Nepal Mediciti is a premier center for diagnosing and treating kidney diseases, supported by a team of highly experienced nephrologists. We provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for a wide range of renal conditions, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetic kidney disease, and hypertension.
Our specialized services extend to the management of glomerulonephritis, nephrotic and nephritic syndromes, and urinary tract infections, supported by a multidisciplinary team including renal nutritionists, vaccination services, and patient counseling to ensure holistic kidney care.
In addition to general nephrology treatment, the department offers daycare services for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, state-of-the-art hemodialysis with advanced equipment and dedicated staff, and peritoneal dialysis with comprehensive patient support and training.
Our kidney transplantation program features a multidisciplinary team providing living-related kidney transplants, ABO-incompatible transplants, and is preparing for future paired kidney exchange and deceased donor transplant programs. We also offer a unique Interventional Nephrology Service for minimally invasive procedures and specialized renal interventions.
Committed to excellence in education and research, the department regularly organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions while actively engaging in research focused on improving the quality of life for hemodialysis patients and advancing nephrology care.
Our preventive nephrology services include community-based kidney health screenings and awareness programs, conducted in collaboration with local organizations to promote early detection and management of kidney diseases across Nepal.
