The Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Care Department at Nepal Mediciti Hospital is led by a team of highly trained paramedics, EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians), and first responders, delivering rapid, life-saving interventions in critical situations—even before patients reach the hospital. This frontline emergency response is seamlessly integrated with the hospital’s Emergency Department, where expert emergency physicians and nurses adopt a multidisciplinary approach to manage a wide range of acute medical conditions with both precision and compassion.
Nepal Mediciti is equipped with an advanced medical evacuation system, featuring a primary rooftop helipad and a secondary ground helipad, facilitating over 1,500 helicopter landings without a single mortality. The department also operates a hybrid ground EMS system, staffed by highly skilled paramedics and emergency physicians, ensuring high-quality care during patient transport.
Renowned for its expertise in emergency response and air evacuation, the department served as the official medical backup for the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during his visits to Muktinath and Janakpur, where a fully equipped onsite ICU was deployed. The team has also played a crucial role in major search and rescue missions, including the Altitude Air helicopter crash, the US-Bangla flight disaster, and one of the longest evacuation missions to Hilsa.
In addition to helicopter rescues, the department organizes pre-hospital care via chartered commercial flights, both domestically and internationally.
